It is a great honor to be presenting my room capacity filled session entitled “Conversation Techniques for Difficult Parents, Students, Teachers and Administrators. One of the most inevitable components of a school leaders’ job is interacting with angry parents. Conferences especially can be difficult when parents, students, teachers, and sometimes even administrators have challenging personalities that can escalate a simple discussion into a battle of wills and non productivity. in this session, participants will learn indicators and strategies for taking control of conferences from beginning to end and for becoming better facilitators. The presenter will use "real, raw and relevant talk”; audience participation; and humor to share best practices that can readily be applied to any school conference situation.

National Youth at Risk Conference

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Hyatt Regency Hotel
Savannah, Ga
8:30 -9:45

I am honored to returning for the second year as a Featured Speaker at the National Youth At Risk Conference, sponsored by Georgia Southern University. The session is entitled, "Do You Know What You are Doing to your Kids? 7 Things You Really Want to Say to Parents! Children are mirrors reflecting images of what happens around them. The behavior and habits children are exposed to can become behaviors and habits displayed at school. This “real, raw, and relevant” yet humorous session will provide seven questions and accompanying strategies that are non-judgmental and designed with the purpose of giving parents insight and strategies for improving their parenting skills. These seven questions can also be taken back to their schools to be used as a template for developing future parenting workshops.
